President’s Message
First of all I would like to give a big salute to our erstwhile leaders who came together to form this august organization, fostering and nurturing it, against all odds. The attitude of the parents joining Parivaar has to be doubly appreciated for coming forward for a common cause while wading through personal agonies. Parivaar Kerala has been advocating for the protection of the rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and for their total inclusion in the society without any discrimination. It also endeavors to ensure their dignity in the society and to empower their families.
In our journey we expect empathy, and not sympathy, from the society towards these innocent persons. We expect recognition and a helping hand to include them in the mainstream.
Parivaar Kerala has been keeping vigil and making effective interventions as and when required; to ensure that the ID (intellectually disabled) gets the benefits accorded by the Government and that they are not side-lined while formulating plans and programmes. We shall continue the liaison.
Dear fellow-parents, I remind you that we need an active awareness of our responsibilities. In the onward march, let’s share both our grieves and festal gleams.
The entire world has been reduced to a global village with regard to information-sharing, thanks to the leaps made in the IT field. Parivaar Kerala is also stepping into the e-era in a humble way, by launching own website. I wish the endeavor all success.
